“The Generation Game” – Part 4 – “The Distribution of Life Insurance Products” Commentary By Chris Morgan

There are a number of ways a consumers can purchase Life Insurance products that are available in the market place.  Prior to Covid 19 and Corona Virus it had become common for product providers to offer their products directly or via online super markets.

The major disadvantage of buying Life Insurance in these ways is that financial advice is not included at the point of sale. This is particularly important for people living with HIV, because the premiums and terms offered by insurers vary enormously between product providers.

Financial Advice For All !

The latest generation of HIV Life Insurance products have the lowest premiums and best terms available, since the introduction of the products in 2009. However, it is impossible to tell if you are getting the best deal directly from a product provider, without seeking financial advice.

Most Life Insurers make provisions for you to receive financial advice that are built into their products, as it’s something that you are entitled to when buying a product through a financial adviser.  The premiums you will be offered are likely to be exactly the same as those offered to you directly.

Client Case Example, Wasim, Aged  46, Delivery Driver ..

Wasim approached us for Life Insurance because he been trying unsuccessfully to get cover directly with product providers as he is living with HIV. On assessing his medical information further, we found there was no reason for them to have declined him for cover.

Throughout the pandemic we have consistently been arranging Life Insurance for our clients at the best premium rates, when they have been declined for cover elsewhere. Our lead product providers are consistently offering better terms and premiums than product providers directly.
