Unusual Risks, the medical financial advisers have today published the results of their new HIV Professionals \u2013 Financial Services Survey. They collected research and data during their year long HIV & Finance Tour and HIV Professionals were asked relevant questions about the accessibility to Financial Products for their service users.<\/p>\n

However, many people living with HIV still feel discriminated against when taking products such as mortgages\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n \u2018The effect of not being able to get Life Insurance for almost two decades has created a belief that people living with HIV are still not able to obtain mortgages. Although people living with HIV have quite specific requirements, it is in fact possible for them to obtain mortgages. We encourage people who have delayed their mortgage decisions to now look after their financial future\u2019. <\/em><\/p>\n The Life Assurance terms being offered by insurance providers for people with HIV have gradually been improving over the last few years and one of the areas where there has been significant improvements is the length of policies offered, with the \u00a0majority of new policies now being offered for between 15 and 25 years which are more appropriate for mortgages applicants.<\/p>\n Mortgage providers are now less likely to make Life Assurance a condition of lending for people living with HIV, which in the past had been a major barrier for them when applying for Mortgages.
